Upcycled Farm Table

Sunday, January 30, 2011

We love this Farm Table. It looks so sturdy and durable. Very different from all of the particle board and laminate tables that you see in most furniture stores. The craftsman at Hammer & Hand were already established as green builders before they tried their hand at upcycled furniture. We’re glad they did because this table is beautiful. The wood from this table comes from century old barn timbers and they use a natural and environmentally friendly oil to finish the wood. That means you don’t need to worry about off gassing from glue, stain or other chemicals. Each table is unique because all of the boards are different. This is the perfect kind of table for rambunctious families, no chemicals and each dent or ding that you add only helps enhance its character. Starting at $2100, these tables are reasonably price when you consider the durability and longevity of such a substantial piece. This is the kind of table you can pass down to your children. Hammer & Hand is based in Portland, Oregon. They also make rolling tables, coffee tables and unique shelving units. All made from industrial salvage. We think you will be inspired by their furniture. www.hammerandhand.com
